The Crofter’s Snug – Terms & Conditions (All Guests)

Thank you for choosing The Crofter’s Snug. We hope you enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay with us. Your agreement is with The Crofter’s Snug and the person making the booking, and where applicable, every member of your party. By making a booking and submitting payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions. We strongly recommend that you take out suitable holiday insurance. We reserve the right to refuse acceptance or to terminate the stay of any guest whose conduct we consider detrimental to the site, ourselves, or the enjoyment of other guests. In such cases, no refund will be given.


GENERAL SITE RULES
- Please supervise children at all times.
- We are a quiet, remote countryside site chosen by guests seeking rest and relaxation.
- Excessive noise, loud music, radios, or disruptive behaviour are not permitted.
- Quiet hours are 10pm–8am across the entire site.
- If you are looking for a late-night party location, The Crofter’s Snug will not be suitable.
- Fireworks, sparklers, and Chinese lanterns are not permitted at any time due to fire risk.
- Please use the recycling facilities provided and recycle as much as possible.
- Vehicles, accessories, and personal belongings are left at the owner’s risk. We accept no responsibility for loss, damage, or injury howsoever caused while on site.


BOOKINGS AND PAYMENTS
- You must be 18 years or over to make a booking.
- Prices shown on the website are subject to change; the price confirmed in your booking confirmation email is binding.
- All payments are processed securely online via Stripe unless otherwise agreed.
- Failure to pay any outstanding balance by the due date may result in the booking being cancelled and the deposit retained.
- Once arrived and checked in, no refunds or credits are given for early departure or unused services.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Accommodation
- Cancellations up to 30 days before arrival: full refund
- Cancellations 14–30 days before arrival: first night charged, remainder refunded
- Cancellations within 14 days of arrival: no refund
- Deposits are non-refundable
- Extreme weather or travel disruption does not entitle guests to a refund
- If we must cancel your stay, all monies paid will be refunded within 14 days

 

Touring Pitches
- Cancellations up to 7 days before arrival: full refund
- Cancellations within 7 days of arrival: no refund unless the pitch is resold
- Full payment is required for stays of 1–2 nights

- For stays of 3 nights or more, a minimum deposit equivalent to two nights is required
- All cancellations must be confirmed by us in writing/email.
If you do not receive confirmation within 12–48 hours (depending on booking type), please contact us again.

 

ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES
Accommodation
- Arrival: from 3:00pm
- Departure: by 10:00am
- All arrivals must be before 10:00pm
- Late or after-dark arrivals must be notified at least 7 days in advance

 

Touring Pitches
- Arrival: from 1:00pm
- Departure: by 11:00am
 Where possible, early arrivals or late departures may be accommodated — please ask

 

CLEANING, DAMAGE & LOSS (ACCOMMODATION)
- Please leave accommodation tidy and report any breakages
- We accept fair wear and tear
- Damage attributable to guests may be charged in full
- Additional cleaning may be charged at £15 per hour
 Missing or removed items will be charged

 

ELECTRICITY, UTILITIES AND SERVICES
Accommodation
- Utilities are included
- In the event of a utility failure exceeding 12 hours, guests may be asked to vacate for safety reasons and will receive a refund or rebooking option for the affected period

 

Touring Pitches
- Electricity (16 amps) is not included and will be recharged at cost
- Electric vehicle charging is strictly prohibited
- Water, waste, and WiFi are included
- Please do not wash vehicles or units on site

 

DOGS & PETS
Accommodation
- Pets are welcome by prior arrangement only
- £20 per stay, maximum two dogs
- Dogs must be supervised, kept on leads, and not left unattended
- Dogs must not be on beds or sofas
- Please bring your own dog bedding and towels
- Dog waste must be bagged and disposed of properly
- Dangerous or fighting breeds are not accepted

 

Touring Pitches
- Dogs are welcome
- Must be kept on a lead at all times and off other pitches
 Owners must clean up after their dogs immediately

 

SMOKING
Smoking or vaping is not permitted inside accommodation or on wooden decking areas.
Smoking is permitted at ground level only. Please use sand pots provided and dispose of
cigarette ends responsibly.

 

FIRE PITS, BBQ’S AND OUTSIDE COOKING
- Fires are permitted only in the designated fire pit areas
- Fires must never be lit elsewhere on site
- Fire pit and wood-fired oven use is entirely at the guest’s own risk
- Only firewood provided or purchased on site may be used
- Charcoal is recommended for cooking
- Logs for the Shepherd’s Hut wood-fired oven are included

 

LIGHTING AND DARK SKIES
- To protect our dark skies:
- Please switch off external lights when not required
- Touring pitches: no decorative or high-powered exterior lighting
- Only low-wattage porch lighting permitted

 

VEHICLES & PARKING
- One vehicle per booking unless agreed in advance
- Additional vehicles must be notified at least 7 days prior to arrival
- Pod & Hut accommodation is approx. 50–100m from parking areas

 

HEALTH AND TRAVEL DISRUPTION
- If you are unwell or unable to drive home safely, please notify management and seek medical advice immediately.
 If Government travel restrictions prevent your stay, you may postpone your booking (subject to availability and price differences)
- Personal illness or travel disruption does not override the cancellation policy.

This website is provided for information only. We accept no responsibility for errors or omissions. We reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
Continued use of the site or your booking constitutes acceptance of the current version.
