John O'Groats = 5 miles/10 minutes - small village

Castletown = 8 miles/17 minutes - large village

Thurso = 15 miles/25 minutes - small town

Wick = 20 miles/30 minutes - medium town

Groceries:

 

  John O'Groats Post Office: General store with small range of groceries. Open Mon-Sat 9am-5.30 (9am-1pm Thursday). Closed Sundays.

  Castletown: McColl corner shop and off-licence. Open 7 days/week 8am-10pm

  Castletown Butchers: including excellent range of deli food (see facebook page here)

  Thurso: Tesco, Lidl, Co-op (if busy, Lidl has the easiest parking for caravans/motorhomes)

  Wick: Tesco, Lidl (both have big parking (ie. easy for motorhomes/caravans)

Petrol/Diesel:

  John O'Groats Post Office (see above)

  Castletown, Gulf Petrol station,

  Thurso - Jet  Garage (easy with caravan) or Gulf (usually cheapest in the area)

  Wick - Tesco (see above)

LPG Autogas:  We have it on good authority that you can autofill your gas tank at Evelix here (80 miles ie. c.2 hour drive south on the A9, just north of Tain) or Ullapool. We would be very grateful for confirmation on this and any others you come across on your travels rather than rely on a web search :-)
